The idea behind the name is that I wanted something intriguing, simple, and almost comedic to appeal to a younger audience. I looked at the name of a similar magazine called MAD.
MAD is a a satirical magazine that appeals to tweens and teens (12-19) which is a similar demographic of my brief.
The one word all caps title is what I want to achieve
After brain storming I played with the idea of using an acronym and I came up with F.O.O.D
which would stand for Florida's Objection Of Diets.
The inclusion of Florida shows that it's location based
the word objection appeals to the younger audience that wants to experiment with their identity and being perceived as a form of rebellion almost
And the rejection and rebellion would be towards diets, but not healthy diets that are necessary to some but a deeper underling meaning of a toxic diet culture that advertises food as almost as a burden rather than a pleasure that is meant to be indulged in and a symbol of culture.
I feel like the thought behind this acronym was very creative and suited the vibe of the magazine.
My second option was called Greedy Piggies because I believe the self discrimination of the magazine itself gave a unserious atmosphere that could play into the joyful vibe.
But overall, there was more thought put into my first option that made me decide that as the final name of F.O.O.D (Florida's Objection Of Diets)
