Feature article- Since the very beginning when I originally decided to chose this as my brief I was to talk the importance that food has on the culture around us. So I wanted to talk in depth about the origins of a specific type of food. This lead me to want to a feature article on the Gingerbread man, a trademark and iconic desert of a holiday filled with a specific type of culture, Christmas.
Deciding this as my brief allowed me to appeal to a niche that would help me plan the further styling of my magazine in aspects of color schemes and images.
As well as planning the articles.
Coming up with the name of the feature article- Keeping up the childish energy of the whole magazine, I want the names of my articles to reflect that
I wanted to have an allusion of a Christmas jingle that was associated by gingerbread for readers to recognize something similar and see a creative twist on it. The first one I thought of was the Gingerbread fairytale that states
"You can't catch me I am the Gingerbread man!"
I wanted to work with that line specifically because I thought it was the most eye catching one. Therefore the final name of the article would be "Gingerbread man finally caught!" Parody the expose magazines on celebrities that I think would be a ironic appeal to my target audience.
