Style Guide
Audience overview- Teens located in South Florida that enjoy creativity and humor and want to know about the details of how food can affect us. I want to be the one educating them so their intellect level would ideally be that of an average high-school student that has taken an English course before.
This way it allows me to have the freedom to cover a variety of different articles, such as recipes, analyzing cultures, and history of certain dishes

Tone- Playful and humorous while being educational and talking to readers in a mature way that does not speak down to those who are young or in a exclusive manner.
Grammar
- use capitalization when referring to someone's name and quoting a work. Whether it's a song, a movie, or a story
-Numbers are to be used in statistics such as referring to percentages and referring to dates, specifically years.
-Simpler sentences will be conveyed throughout the feature articles with the use of proper punctuation
- Since using proper punctuations there will be minimal abbreviations
Spelling
We will be using spell check across Google docs and word as well as running our articles through Grammarly to make sure the unprofessionalism of misspelling is to not occur.
Jargon
Since we want to take an educational approach to our readers, we do not plan for them to have intensive background knowledge in our content. Therefore, any unknown terms or jargon will be defined within the article itself.
Resources
Since we plan on having a variety of amount of information within our articles, there should not be a exact limit on our citations and resources, but there is a prohibition on the use of Wikipedia
Typography
For our coverlines, the fonts that we wanted to decide is Gill Sans Ultrabond Regular and dependent on the sizing of the cover image as well as the feature article, we would want the points to be between 20 points to 25 points maximum.
For text dependant on how lengthy the finished article will be, we ideally want to work on a point range of 10-13 points
Photo guidelines
We really want to be creative with our photos incorporating different types of positionings of the subject as well as playing with the color schemes and overall telling a story through the photography.
Angled mid shots that showcase a scene rather than a plain dish.
Over the head POV shots that are immersive for the readerBecause the photographs is be an integral part of our brief, majority of them will take a full page or will be reduced to half a page.
And since we plan on taking all the images ourselves, the sources will be cited to be in-house by me photographing.
